Memories of Italy - Bottlestop Commission

I have been commissioned to design a bottlestop based on the receivers favourite destination, Italy. The client visited my studio where we got ideas down on paper. The design is based around the encapsulation of the receivers Italy memorabilia. The objects to be encapsulated include magazine cuttings, a map and some stamps. The next stage is mold making in preparation for casting.

Illustrated Cufflinks

This project has developed from my recycled paper jewellery range. Where cufflinks have been used to encapsulate and display interesting paper items. Such as the use of tattered vintage maps and the reuse of unwanted comic book.

Skull Pendant Commission

I have been asked to make this skull into a pendant/ interesting object. After discussing the pendant idea with the client we decided to encapsulate the skull without using any colour. To make the skull look extra white I will be bleaching it's surface.

The shape of the encapsulation will be a rounded triangular shape. When the pendant is being worn the triangle shape will be longer than it is wide with a flat edge at the top moving down into a point.

The curves in the surface of the clear encapsulation will magnify the objects details and because the encapsulation is going to be entirely clear the wearer will be able to see every detail of the skull.

Another reason for making the encapsulation clear is so the pendant will be well suited to different outfits and because the skull is quite large it will make the pendant look and feel smaller.

Business Promotion

In addition to your business card Peter can develop a very special promotional tool that will find a home within your client’s lifestyle. Once you have finished your meeting you will be represented by an enjoyable physical object that you and your business will be remembered by. Bellow are three examples, the first is a promotional tool that Peter uses himself. “I have heard feedback that these promotional gifts have been kept on office desks because they are tactile, thoughtful, aesthetically pleasing objects. Here a pebble shape has been combined with the weight of bronze so the promotional tool lends itself to desk type functions i.e. a paper weight. The two illustrations show further possibilities for this promotional tool. The illustration of the tablet with a hole in its centre and the bracelet with contact details contained within the beads are commissions in progress. The tablet could have contact information incorporated inside or embossed on the surface of the design. The hole gives the square tablet a sculptural tactile feel that is pleasurable to handle.
