CHELSEA OLD TOWN HALL, London: 27th – 30th October 2010

Chelsea Old Town Hall with its late Victorian design and elegance is located on King’s Road in one of the most fashionable parts of London.

This prestigious venue boasts impressive ornate vaulted ceilings, graceful marble columns, mahogany panel walls. Chelsea Old Town Hall is a popular setting for many arts and crafts exhibitions.

Recently renovated to its former external glory, Chelsea Old Town Hall was built on land donated by Lord Cadogan and opened by him in 1887.

The very elegant Chelsea Old Town Hall will showcase the very best of contemporary British craft and design.

The visitors at the Handmade 2010 show will be able to choose from a range of Eco friendly products such as hand-crafted jewellery, fashion accessories, ceramics, tableware millinery, stationery and a broad choice of home accessories from over 60 of the UK’s most talented designers. Not only an Eco-friendly event, Handmade 2010, also focuses on quality, design and style, with a wide range of unique one-off or limited edition products available either to view, purchase or to commission.

Held in Richmond for the last five years, the fair is now moving to the Bank of England Sports Club, situated in 32 acres of award-winning grounds just a short walk from Richmond Park. Visitors can expect the same high standard of work they have come to expect from the fair, yet with the bonus of ample free parking. Indoor event with full disabled access.

MADE10 returns to the beautiful Corn Exchange in the heart of Brighton offering the public the opportunity to buy original and exceptional design and craft from the best local and national makers. It also provides space for the designer / makers to sell direct to the public and to build a relationship with buyers, potential buyers, galleries and craft suppliers.

Now in it's fifth year MADE10 has become firmly established as a friendly, accessible and high quality event, attracting over 5000 visitors each year who delight at the quality and extensive range of work.

MADE showcases over 100 contemporary and highly original makers and designers across all media. With jewellery, furniture, ceramics, textiles, clothing and the odd quirky pieces thrown in - the fair offers beautiful handcrafted objects to suit everyone's taste and budget.

A cafe provides a place for visitors to relax with a drink and a bite to eat and contemplate purchases.

Fashion designer Annette Lennerup and jewellery designer Peter Spilsbury will be hosting this year's Gipsy Hill Workshop's open studios, kicking off the run-up to Christmas with a fashion show where guests can purchase the quirky creations strutted on the runway, along with artwork and contemporary craft by three other workshop residents. Guest catwalk contributors include male fashion wear from Guilty Kilts and hair by local stylist Heather Morris of FortySeven. This year’s studio interior will also feature an instillation by artist Adam Higman on show throughout the open dates. The Gipsy Hill Studios located in Paddock Gardens will be hosting their catwalk show on Friday 27th Nov from 8pm, if you would like to attend please send your name to rsvp@spil.me.uk. The studios will also be open to the public from 11am to 4pm on 29th Nov and the following weekend on 5th and 6th Dec.
